2nd day of trek to machu pichu

Slept at 1270 last night. Hit up bright and early to the view of humamtay mtn. Off to breakfast 6:30 before our hike today to the glacial lake a trek up to 13600 feet. Still lucky with no altitude problems seems all others do and are taking altitude drugs. The trek was a high altitude acclimating trek. The lake was cold on my feet. You can't imagine how beautiful. It was a 5.5 hr trek beautiful brilliant blue sky and the incredible mountain as a back drop you will. Love the pictures. Then we planted a tree for the Eco centre they are reforestiing the valley to keep the humidity back in to the valley. We paid 10. For a tree. Planted it and they will send us email to keep us posted on the growth then another hottub with the view of the mountain then pisco sour preparation lesson lovely.

First official day of the trek

We left cusco at 6:30 am heading for the beginning point of our trek

We had about a 3hr drive to the start
And the photo below with all Trekkers in picture was out starting point we trekked 6.5 hrs 1700 foot elevation gain. There were an unbelievable amount of challenged to my fear of heights but no issue finished In great spirits and in great healthy. As opposed to yesterday. You will see that I didn't do too many photos with my iPhone which if course is where all these blog photos are coming from. It was a bit treacherous to hike and take photos. You are watching where you place your feet. We are now here at the mountain lodge salkantay beautiful spot with all suites looking to the mountain.
We hit the hit tub first now preparing g for dinner. What an amazing day. I love it. You should all take the opportunity.

Still in the hospital. I guess some people

Would do anything to get out of a hike and shopping .,,,

Been here 5,5 hrs and they mean to keep me longer lunch was a bowl of tasteless water with some carrot and celery sticks.

Extreme night

Thoght i migh be hiking or riiding a horse but alas it was a peruvien ambulance through tve cobblr stone street just about rolled off the gurney a few times
I was extremely sick in the night was so worried that it was altitude sickness do called our fearless leader at z7:30. She called the doctor who arrived in 30 min thought he would give me a shot he wanted to take me to the hospital for I v. Only food poisoning. Not elevation. He checked the oxygen I. Mg blood it is 91 perfect is 100. He sa mine is better than his. So here I am for 5 or 6 hrs. Missing a hike and city tour. But all is Good we embark on tithe trek to machu pichu tomorrow morning 7 am. I

Made it to cusco

We again are in an smashing hotel. Beautiful rooms. Pretty tired so we hit the jacuzzi now relaxing before bed doing this blog. And hydrating. We are sleeping at 11000 feet tonight. So far so good

Holy crap the view is amazing but.,,

The 1500 foot decent was not for the faint of heart. Narrow rock stairs some with one wall on the side others straight down but 1000s of feet down if you fell. Gooood bye. I made it safe and sound. Not so easy for others. But well worth the views and history
